When I was a little girl, my mom would take me to the candy store to cheer me up after a bad day at school. I loved the sight of all the rainbow colored candies that filled each jar stacked neatly on the shelves. The owner (a close friend of my mom’s) would offer me free samples. I usually went for the chocolate mints or the dark chocolate raspberry truffles. The chocolates always cured me! My troubles seemed to fade away…. Even now as an adult, I still love chocolate, especially anything with dark chocolate!
In the last few years, Brian and I attended a few weddings where there was a candy bar for guests to enjoy. I think more and more brides are looking into this “sweet” trend. The candy bar allows the guests to choose the candy of their choice and place it in a take home container as a “wedding favor.” Love the idea for two reasons. The first reason, if you are inviting a number of kids, it’s fun for them to treat themselves to candy, second, adults like to indulge in the candy bar too. Time to feel like a child again! However, I recommend that you research the prices of candy, etc. to see if this is within your budget. As fun as candy is for all to enjoy, it can get pricey. What are your thoughts about a candy bar at a wedding reception?
