Create Beautiful Bridal Hairstyles with Hot Tools!

Monday, December 26th, 2011

Finding it hard to stick to your wedding budget? Don’t stress— there is one area in which you can save a ton of money: DIY wedding makeup and hair! Ask a friend to do your hair and makeup, and have your bridesmaids help each other. This way, you can all have fun getting ready together, and you won’t have to spend hundreds of dollars (or more!) on your bridal party’s look! If you decide to go the DIY route, be sure to invest in quality tools in order to get the best results. If you are going for a sleek and shiny look, a flat iron would be your best bet. Be sure to get one that emits far infrared heat or has tourmaline plates, so that the heat damage done to your hair is minimal. If you are thinking about incorporating curls into your wedding-day ‘do, be sure to pick up a clip-less curling iron. They create soft, natural-looking curls, and won’t leave a crease at the top of your curls. A professional hair dryer is a good idea too, and will cut down on your styling time so you can spend less time worrying about your hair, and more time enjoying your day!

The best part about buying your own tools is that you will have them to use after your wedding! You can pick up your own Hot Tools flat irons, curling irons, and other hair appliances at Image Beauty. They also carry tons of cosmetics and other affordable beauty supplies that can help you achieve your perfect wedding day look! Check them out!

Beautiful Button Bouquets

Friday, December 16th, 2011

If you are struggling to think of flowers that you might like in your bouquet that won’t break the bank and will match nicely with your desired color theme, making your own bouquet is always an option. What is nice about making your own bouquet is that you can use materials that will last forever so that you can keep your bouquet past your wedding day.

Consider a hand crafted DIY button bouquet for your wedding day

Button bouquets are becoming more and more popular as an alternative to fresh cut flowers, and can work out much less costly too.

If you won’t have time to make your own button bouquet, there are now professional crafters who specialise in button bouquets. This beautiful silver, crystal, pearl, ivory and feather bouquet is from “I Heart Buttons” based in the Isle of Wight, UK.

Using a mixture of buttons and material also works well to create rose like shapes. Using a variety of different materials can give you a very different depth and texture to your bouquet. A pink and blue layered bouquet has been written about by Krystal Bowman on her blog Hello Darlin’.

Another method for a different style bouquet is to stack buttons of different sizes on top of each other. If you would like a less rounded bouquet, then longer pieces of covered wire can be used to add height to the stems of your buttons flowers. The pink bouquet in the picture is from Something Old, Something New in Atlanta.

Felt bouquets can be much more eco-friendly than fresh cut flowers

Felt bouquets can be much more eco-friendly than fresh cut flowers

Felt is a great material to use in a home-made bouquet. Layering different colors of felt and using stitching detail creates good contrasts. If you are having a hen party at home, you could have your hens help you make the flowers out of felt. A sentimental touch would be to ask each person to bring a button with them to include in your bouquet so that they can be a part of your lasting memory, especially if anyone is unable to be at the wedding ceremony for any reason.

Looking for some rustic table décor inspiration? Then check out these beautiful table settings courtesy of Weddings Fresh and start preparing your own rustic outdoor wedding.

You can’t go wrong with using a rustic table for any event, casual or traditional. Bring your chunky, worn, antiqued table outside and dress up with almost anything you’ve got! This tablescape is set with green and clear found bottles with fresh white hydrangea, a simple wooden box fit with summery succulents and lovely hand painted plates. I love the woven mats and pops of turquoise. Paired together it makes for a wonderfully bohemian combination of organic textures and bright accents.
