If you are having your honeymoon in the Fijian Islands then congratulations as this has to be one of the most romantic things to do in the world!
From the extraordinary views that cover the islands as well as the climate, the wildlife along with the luxury resorts and the exotic history and traditions of the place and the people, Fiji truly makes for a spectacular choice of honeymoon and wedding location.
The Fijian islands are situated in the south west pacific and have three hundred and twenty two islands, one hundred and six of which are inhabited.
Two of the main islands named as Viti Levu and Vanua Levu are the significantly larger compared to the many others, however if you are honeymooning there then you are more likely to be staying at one of the luxury resorts on one of the smaller islands.
The climate in and around the beautiful Fiji is a tropical marine one and so warm throughout most of the calendar year. The time of year that the weather is best is between May and September which is great for couples planning on getting married or honeymooning at this time.

Fiji, a perfect honeymoon destination
Fijian resorts really do represent true tropical paradise! Accommodation ranges from beach front bures, garden bures and hotel suites. Whichever you choose, the experience really will leave you feeling like you have captured your own slice of a romantic paradise.
These resorts will usually offer a varied mixture of exciting activities to choose from including swimming, diving, jet skis, spas, golf, wake boarding, surfing trips, coconut tree climbing, kava ceremonies, fishing, canoeing, tennis, snorkelling and probably many more.
If taking part in activities are not your desired use of honeymoon time then the relaxing tranquillity of lying on a sandy beach surrounded by the blue sea or sat on a sun lounger at the pool side, being handed cocktails by your own personal waiter, Fiji provides it in abundance!
The wildlife and marine life in Fiji is a wonder in itself and some can be a little on the dangerous side! Sea snakes are an example of this as they can slither onto the land at night. They are highly venomous and can be recognised by the black and white banding. Tiger sharks and Bull sharks also an example of the dangerous sea life that inhabit the sea around the Fijian islands, which shouldn?t scare you off that snorkelling trip too much!
The currents in Fiji are another real danger as some beaches have strong, rapidly changing currents that are not always visible.
If you are thinking about getting married in Fiji as well as enjoying your honeymoon there, then there will be documentation that will need to be obtained before you travel. If you, as most people will, have booked your wedding through a travel agent specialising in weddings abroad then they should have informed you well exactly what paperwork you will need and in plenty of time to obtain it. If you find yourself unsure of what you need then an established travel company should always be willing to reassure you.
Usually, a beach front wedding is the popular choice of location for a Fijian wedding, although rainforest locations are also available and are becoming ever more popular.
Dining out in Fiji during your stay is a real treat due to the multi-ethnic population there which makes for a wide range of different cuisine including Polynesian, Melanesian, Indian and Chinese along with European. The Fijian national beverage is bound to leave a pleasant taste in the mouth due to its relaxing properties!
You may also choose to spend the evening upon a Fijian cruise boat where dining aboard on a three course meal with champagne and traditional Fijian entertainment is definitely an extra worth splashing out on. Many of the Fijian resorts will offer this as an activity you can book up whilst there.
The island resorts themselves are actually one of the best places to dine as many have a different theme each night, inspired by a different counties cuisine.
The most important advise would be to remember that when in Fiji you are on ‘Fiji time’ as the locals say….so relax, have fun and enjoy your Fiji wedding or honeymoon among the beautiful treasures that the islands offer.
