What To Wear To A Spring Wedding

March 24th, 2011

Spring time is around the corner which means, wedding season is near! If you’re looking for the perfect look for a spring wedding, listen up.

Spring weddings should be colorful and bright so stick with colors that will bring out the life in you. Yellows, pinks and bright blues are perfect for an outdoor wedding. Most wedding guests choose short dresses with fun heels for spring looks but longer dresses with flats can work too! This look puts together a strapless textured yellow dress with a flower waist accent with mauve peep toed heels for a feminine and classic look. Spruce up the neckline with a chunky gold necklace and add more texture to the look with a lace patterned clutch and a large black and gold ring.

Although this look is great for weddings, we actually found this dress as part of David’s Bridal prom dresses collection! So, feel free to put together a similar look for all your other spring special occasions such as proms, graduation parties, birthdays and more!

I love those mauve peep toed heels!

Expensive Jewelry Is Not For Me!

October 26th, 2010

Ah, the joys of planning a wedding! So many things to think about. The venue, the guests, the date, the cake and, of course, the bride. In fact, she gets a whole list of worries all to herself. Who is going to be her bridesmaid? What dress will she wear? How will she style her hair? But, I’ll be honest; I’ve never considered the choice of jewelry as another bridal worry.

I’ll admit I’m not the most traditional person out there. In fact, the idea of a white wedding makes me come over all sweaty and a little bit nauseous. So the question of how much I would spend on bridal jewelry is a simple one – not a lot. Don’t get me wrong, I love jewelry but I would much prefer to wear something that perhaps belongs to my mother or grandmother than go out and spend an obscene amount on a new piece for the day. Sentimental value far outweighs actual value, as far as I’m concerned.

It just seems like yet another excuse to spend money and, bearing in mind today’s climate of easy debt and high interest payments, spending a lot of money on something that is not entirely necessary just seems a bit stupid. I would rather spend a little on the dress, shoes, hair etc. for the big day and have a lot more to put towards a wonderful honeymoon. For me, it’s all about priorities and, unfortunately, bridal jewelry is not one of them.

Veils, Tiaras, And All

September 2nd, 2010

So you have finally found the wedding dress of your dreams. This is such a great relief for you and recalling all those times that you have exhaustedly tried on one dress after another has finally paid off. But hold up. Just before you can start your victory dance, you still have one more thing to do – pick out bridal accessories.

Finding the perfect bridal accessories is equally important as finding the perfect dress itself. You may be wearing the most fabulous wedding dress, but without bridal accessories to complement it, it will still be just a plain dress. It’s also the same if you are wearing the same dress and have bridal accessories that are not as equally as fabulous. You won’t be able to pull off the perfect look if your wedding dress and accessories won’t go together: Period.

There are a number of bridal accessories that you must have in order to create the perfect image of yourself walking down the aisle. You may find these in the bridal shop where you ordered your dress, or you can also find it in shops that specialize in wedding accessories.

Your wedding dress and accessories should be like a flowing river – it must be harmonious in every way. Choosing them can be as stressful as searching your dream wedding dress, but it doesn’t have to be. Eventually all brides find perfect accessories that goes perfectly with her wedding dress. Bottom line… don’t overlook these items: wedding veils, bridal tiaras, wedding jewelry, and bridal headpieces.
