Plus Size Strapless Wedding Dress! Size 18
I bought a beautiful wedding dress from David’s Bridal for our destination wedding in September 2009. This dress was worn once and had no alterations made to it because it has a corset back and fit perfectly. It has not been cleaned since worn, but has been kept in the dress bag I got from David’s in a smoke free home in the guest bedroom closet. There are some very minor dirt marks on the underside of the skirt from walking around on the beach in Mexico, but they would not be visible while wearing. I have not tried to get them out, but they probably would not be hard to remove. We ran a little steamer over the dress before the wedding to get some slight wrinkles out of the chiffon and they came out easily. I only wore the gown for our wedding and maye 2 hours afterward for pictures and such. I did not wear it again when we came home for our wedding reception as it was just a bar-b-que in my parents’ yard…a very informal affair. =)
Originally purchased for $550 would like to sell for $300. David’s Bridal style V9409. You can see it here: http://www.davidsbridal.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplayView?storeId=10052&catalogId=10051&categoryId=-49995489¤tIdx=81&subCategory=-49999486%7c-49998998%7c-49995489&catentryId=6097265&sort=
This dress is beautiful and very flattering. It is a size 18W and fit perfectly as I wear an 18/20 in jeans from Lane Bryant. The color of the dress is ivory, but it’s ver, very light ivory. The bodice has material that gathers to the side that is very flattering to the midsection and a large bust. The corset back is great as it will fit anyone close to a size 18. I did not need to alter the length as it was perfect for my 5′6” height with 1” flip-flop sandals. =) There isn’t a long train on it…and it was very easy to move around in. I did not even need to wear any undergarments to support my bust as the corset back was tied tight enough and provided all the support I needed (I wear a 42 DD and found the long-line bras were all too flimsy for me anyway). The top layer of chiffon was perfect and beautiful blowing lightly in the breeze as we were married on a gorgeous beach on an island in Mexico. The beading on the corset is very pretty and not too much. It added the perfect amount of sparkle. =)
I will include in the price the simple metal comb, elbow-length, 1 tier veil, which I also got from David’s for $50 (Style 849). The veil is in perfect shape, but may need a slight steaming as it may have wrinkled somewhat as I keep it in the dress bag with the wedding dress.
